Self-Study Agriculture Learner's Textbook has been written in response to the new competence- based lower secondary curriculum for Uganda. The curriculum was developed by National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) under the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) and launched in 2020. This book is intended for use by learners from S.1 to S.4 as well as agriculture teachers. The book provides the needed content for the learners to swiftly cover all the topics in prescribed time frame.

Pedagogical elements, such as Notes, Activity, Tips, precautions etc. are provided at appropriate places in each chapter to help learners reinforce their learning and retain it longer. These elements, based on the various learning theories, will cater for the learning requirements of different level of readers, and make learning an inspiring and fun filled experience.

For now, the book is produced in two parts (books) Book 1 covering the chapters taught at senior one and senior two, Book 2 covering chapters taught at senior three and senior four.
