About the author

OSCAR RANZO is a Fellow of the International Writing Programme at the University of Iowa, USA. Oscar's dream to become a writer began in high school at St Mary's College Kisubi - and reading played a vital role in the development of his craft. His published children's books include Saving Little Viola, The Little Maid, The Wise Milkboy, The Jewels of Amuria, Dad's Party, Tree to Heaven and Jomo's Gift, Miracle in Amuru and Kairu's Secret. He is also the author and editor of The Adventures of Babi and Bobi comic series that was serialized in The New Vision newspaper from 2015 to 2018. In 2013, The University of Iowa awarded him the title of 'Honorary Fellow in Writing'. In 2014 he won The New Vision's Enterprising Teachers Award.
