ABOUT THE BOOK

KOBTA SIMPLIFIED READING BOOK ONE - REVISED EDITION

Kobta Simplified Reading Book One is a revised course book developed in line with the Uganda Primary English Language Curriculum. It is designed to support early literacy development through a learner-centred and com-petency-based approach.

The book introduces learners to basic letter sounds, syllables, blends, and simple word formation, enabling them to read, spell, and construct simple sentences correctly. Content is carefully sequenced to match the expect-ed learning outcomes for lower primary learners in Uganda.

A wide variety of age-appropriate vocabulary and writing activities are provided to strengthen spelling, handwriting, and early composition skills.

The book presents a rich range of exercises, short stories, rhymes, puzzles, tongue twisters, riddles, and songs, all aimed at enhancing read-ing fluency, comprehension, creativity, and critical thinking skills in accor-dance with the national curriculum.

Learners are encouraged to actively participate through practice-based activities that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
