ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNER'S BOOK 3

We all wish to become better communicators because communication is an enabler of everything in life. We use language to convey our feelings, thoughts, and ideas/ to others. Like all languages, English facilitates communication, but, is perhaps, more special because it is the global language. It is also the official language of Uganda as well as, the language of instruction at the secondary level of education. Learners use English language to study other subjects.

This New Vision English Language Book Three is a continuation of Books One and Two. It is an active learner-centred book that aims at empowering the learner to effortlessly and fluently use English to become an effective communicator.

The learner shall, throughout this book, carry out extensive listening, speaking, reading, and writing, thereby, buttressing their skills of self-expression, analysis and interpretation. This book will open the world to the learner, expose him or her to different cultures, as well as, ignite and inspire their creativity, that will catalyse the learner's competitiveness in this 21st Century global value chain.

Drawing from the learners' day-to-day experiences, because new information is learned better when it connects to, and expands what the learners already know, this textbook emphasises deeper learning that allows the learners to connect knowledge with real-world experiences, to be able to solve real-life problems.

Generic skills, essential life skills and values, as well as appreciation of other crosscutting issues, have been reinforced to help produce a well-rounded and patriotic individual who appreciates their duty in contributing towards a better Uganda.
