Biology connects us to the world we live in. It also reminds us of our interconnectedness to other life forms. As such, studying Biology empowers us to make informed decisions about our health and how to sustainably relate with and use other flora and fauna.

This New Vision Biology Book Three is a continuation of Books One and Two. It is a learner-centred, practical, and interactive textbook that was specially written to empower the learner not to merely acquire knowledge of Biology for its own sake but apply it, to live a healthy lifestyle, participate in suggesting/providing solutions to day-to-day problems, self and community hygiene, personal care, and care for one another.

Throughout the book, there are opportunities for learner inquiry and discovery through experimenting, participating in group discussions, excursions and field trips, debates, research, and projects. The learner explores problems and suggests solutions. The activities and experiments were particularly designed to interest the learner to develop the skills of observation, data collection, analysis and discovery, which are the pillars of science.

Generic skills, essential life skills and values, as well as appreciation of other cross- cutting issues have been catered for in this textbook to help groom a learner into a model citizen, whose training shall prepare him or her to be a champion of healthy living in the community.
