Mimi's Travels

MIMI'S TRAVELS, the tenth book in the Starter Series, has been structured to teach children about animals and their food through reading. The Starter Series are designed to help children become skilled readers who like to read. Beginning readers learn to read by remembering frequently used words, by enjoying the adventures of their favourite characters; and by interpreting picture and text clues. These books provide the stories children will immensely enjoy and the structure they need to read fluently and independently. Inside the book you will also find exercises to help the child develop their critical thinking abilities.

About the author 

OSCAR RANZO is a Fellow of the International Writing Programme at the University of Iowa, USA. Oscar's dream to become a writer began in high school at St Mary's College Kisubi - and reading played a vital role in the development of his craft. His published children's books include Saving Little Viola, The Little Maid, The Wise Milkboy, The Jewels of Amuria, Dad's Party, Tree to Heaven and Jomo's Gift, Miracle in Amuru and Kairu's Secret. He is also the author and editor of The Adventures of Babi and Bobi comic series that was serialized in The New Vision newspaper from 2015 to 2018. In 2013, The University of Iowa awarded him the title of 'Honorary Fellow in Writing'. In 2014 he won The New Vision's Enterprising Teachers Award.
