Fountain English for Uganda Secondary Schools Learner's Book 3

This Learner's Book is based on the Lower Secondary School Curriculum. The competency based curriculum is learner- centred and aims to ensure that you achieve your learning needs through active engagement in the learning process. Some of the activities provided in this book are drawn from real life situations. You are required to relate what is learnt with your real-life experiences at home, in school and in society at large. The activities are simplified to make it easy for you to learn.

Knowledge from other subject areas allows you to relate different topics with what is studied both within and outside the classroom. You will develop the ability to think independently, communicate with others, explain what is learnt, be creative and come up with personal ideas to develop the skills needed in life. This will prepare you to be a well-rounded individual, making you ready for work, higher education, and how to deal with the daily challenges of life.

This book requires your active participation in different activities. Additional materials are provided to support you in learning individually and as part of a group. It is important that you do all the activities. There are activities that require you to do research in the library, on the Internet, or using textbooks or newspapers and magazines.
