No Longer at Ease is a 1960 novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. It tells the narrative of Obi Okonkwo, an Igbo man who leaves his town for a school in Britain and later a position in Nigeria's colonial civil service, but is torn between his African culture and Western lifestyle and eventually accepts a bribe. The novel is the second installment of what is frequently referred to as the "African trilogy," after Things Fall Apart and preceding Arrow of God, despite the fact that Arrow of God occurs earlier in the trilogy's chronology. Things Fall Apart follows Obi Okonkwo's grandpa Okonkwo's battle against the British-imposed changes.
