Baroque Senior One Entrepreneurship Learner's Book has been developed basing on the New Lower Secondary School Curriculum, whose aim is to enable learners to make informed decisions as citizens and family members and to give them the learning skills they need to think critically and study efficiently.
The Learner's Book has been designed to allow learners to work individually and with others in practical and interactive activities that are related to the concepts in this course. It is expected that learners will apply creativity, innovation, problem-solving skills, communicate business information effectively, and appreciate the contribution of Entrepreneurship as they prepare for the challenges of the 21 century.
This book caters for the different teaching and learning styles and needs so as to enable learners to develop knowledge and skills that will help them to develop confidence in an increasingly entrepreneurial and technological world, thereby being able to develop an informed interest in the world of business.
The following aspects have been considered while developing the content of this book, respect for human life, awareness of the importance of living in harmony with the environment, independent and critical thinking, and the innovative application of entrepreneurial knowledge and technology in solving problems.
On completion of this course of study, the learner should,
have acquired sufficient entrepreneurial knowledge and understanding that will prepare him/her for the challenges of the 21h century,
be a confident citizen in the entrepreneurial and technological world, and who is able to develop an informed interest in the world of business, be able to effectively start up and manage a business,
have developed relevant attitudes to business in general and entrepreneurship in particular, such as; creativity and innovation, finance and government revenue, risk management, integrity, enquiry, initiative, investment, and budgeting,
have developed awareness that entrepreneurship has social, economic, technological, ethical and cultural influences, justifications and limitations,
have developed interest in and care for the environment and the proper utilisation of resources with respect to Uganda.
