Baroque Senior two History and Political education and Literature Learner's Book

Baroque Senior Two History and Political Education Learner's Book has been developed basing on the New Lower Secondary School Curriculum, whose aim is to enable learners to make informed decisions as citizens and family members and to give them the learning skills they need to think critically and study efficiently.

The Learner's Book has been designed in such a way that it clearly shows how the past has created the present and how people organise themselves in communities and nations. During their History and Political Education lessons, learners will explore the history of their locality and the wider world.

This book caters for a wide range of contexts in which to develop understanding through sifting evidence, enquiry and rational thought. These contexts have been designed to engage the interest of the learner and to provide opportunities to build life-related knowledge, experiences and skills

The following aspects have been given consideration while developing the content of this book; respect for human life, awareness of the importance of living in harmony with the environment, and independent and critical thinking.

On completion of this course of study, the learner should;

• be responsible for his/her own learning,
• think for himself/herself and develop his/her own understanding of the different concepts,
• become a critical thinker, who is ready to face new challenges and situations,
• demonstrate that he/she has understood what they have learnt.
