Baroque Senior One geography Learner's Book

Baroque Senior One Geography Learner's Book has been developed basing on the New Lower Secondary School Curriculum, whose aim is to enable learners to make informed decisions as citizens and family members and to give them the learning skills they need to think critically and study efficiently.

The Learner's Book has been designed with emphasis on human and regional Geography, focusing on actual people in actual communities.

This book has also been designed while considering those learners who may not proceed to higher levels of education. It provides an opportunity for learners who will take on further education to sufficiently develop their geographical skills and specialise later.

The following aspects have been given consideration while developing the content of this book; respect for human life, awareness of the importance of living in harmony with the environment, and independent and critical thinking.

On completion of this course of study, the learner should;

• be responsible for his/her own learning,
• think for himself/herself and develop his/her own understanding of the different concepts,
• become a critical thinker, who is ready to face new challenges and situations,
• demonstrate that he/she has understood what they have learnt.
